F.U.R. Friends of Unwanted Rabbits Adoption Program
A program created by a shelter volunteer in 2004, whereby rabbits that come in to the shelter are brought to PETsMART stores for increased exposure to the public. TEAM, the non-profit affiliate of the shelter, donated funds to purchase high quality rabbit cages for the retail stores. PETsMART employees and volunteers care and feed the rabbits. They carefully counsel potential
adopters about the care and feeding of rabbits, best kinds of cages, and the time requirements involved. Since the program inception, bunny adoptions have doubled. Rabbits are the third most popular pet in America and make wonderful pets - they can even be litter box trained! For more information, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 875-5848.
