Sacramento County's New Animal Shelter

The Board of Supervisors voted to move forward on a new animal shelter for the homeless animals of Sacramento County. The new site is Bradshaw Road, south of Highway 50, between Goethe and Safetyville.  View pictures of the construction! The facility is expected to open early 2009.

Renowned animal shelter architect firm George Miers and Associates did the architectural drawings of the new shelter.

As mandated by local law, we are working with the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission - under the Art in Public Places program, to incorporate art into the new facility.

Stay tuned to this page for information about the new shelter. Read answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
