Smokey

Smokey the cat

I picked up Smokey - a black haired yodeling, five month-old kitten - from the Sacramento County Animal shelter in 2005. My previous cat had just recently passed away, and I was feeling it was time to get a new one.

When Smokey first came home he was constantly rubbing his nose in my face and verbalizing his appreciation. The very next day he became severely ill so I took him to the emergency room. Due to the severity of his illness I had to take several days off from work to nurse Smokey back to health.

The extra care and attention I gave him during this time really cemented the bond between us. Smokey healed quickly and was soon up and playing like a kitten. Smokey is now very healthy and happy and will always be a major part of my family.
