Cody's Story

We just happened to stop by PETsMART and while there discovered Cody, an approximately 18-24 month-old male lab/Sharpei mix.  We have a black lab but didn't know anything about the Sharpei breed.  His feet definitely looked different, and he had some extra wrinkles in his face and a rat's tale (but don't tell him that because it will hurt his feelings).  He seemed like such a sweet loveable dog and had been at the Shelter for several months.  So, we decided to adopt Cody on the spot.

At first he was a little apprehensive but quickly settled in.  Sadie, our other lab is a dominate female, and although 18+ years old, still rules the yard. They are getting along fine.

Cody loves going to our cabin up in the mountains but we have to keep a close eye on him because he likes to explore on his own.  The only drawback we have had so far is that he gets car sick on the winding roads but we'll find a solution to that soon.  He was definitely underweight when we got him but he's gained several pounds and is looking quite the handsome dude.  He loves his evening walks and sitting on his bed in the family room playing with his squeaky toys
