Ranger’s Story

Photograph of Ranger the dog lying on a bed. My wife Susie and I got “Ranger” at the County Animal Shelter in October of 2000. I first saw him at the shelter. My wife and I already had a dog and weren’t really thinking of getting a second. After five days of playing with him I just couldn’t resist.

As it turns out, we are both extremely glad we got him because his character is the perfect blend for us. He is extremely affectionate and loves to sit around with his head propped on our laps whenever we just feel like unwinding and reading a book, but he also loves to go on bike rides, swimming and especially loves to fetch just about anything. In fact, he and I entered the UC Davis Picnic Day Frisbee competition when he was only about 8 months old….didn’t win but everyone tells me it was his partners’ fault…..
